Dr. Benjamin Dunlap, President of Wofford College, will be speaking on "The Scots-Irish in the South Carolina Upcountry: A Volatile Heritage" for the Upcountry History Museum's spring McBee Lecture. Part general, part military, and part personal anecdotal history, the evening promises to be a lively combination of art, education, and entertainment -- you don't want to miss this one! 7pm - 8pm at Greenville Little Theatre (on Heritage Green downtown), Friday, May 1st. | Bridging the Gap |
John Knox Presbyterian Church invites the community to a free workshop led by Mrs. Allison Wilson, author of " Bridging the Gap to Employment." The workshop will be held 9am until 12 noon on Saturday, May 2, in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Wilson, a member of Spartanburg First Presbyterian, will present timeless principles combined with practical applications when seeking employment. She will walk through each step of the process and will share how God desires to work with each of us in times of transition. Workbooks will be available for $10 (halfprice). Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina would like to remind you of the Mother's Day Offering to be received on May 10. This offering goes entirely to fund benevolent care at the communities. PSCS has given over $27 million in resident aid over the past 20 years. Last year $2.2 million was given to assist residents. Please give generously to your ministry for older adult church members. |

InDwellings, a ministry of Foothills Presbytery, joyfully announces the upcoming launch of its capital campaign, " Building Homes of Love." Please join them as they kick off the fundraising with an outdoor celebration for the whole family on May 28, 4:30-7:00 on their donated land, adjacent to Presbyterian Communities, 205 Bud Nalley Drive in Easley. Bring your lawn chair, wear your casual clothes and join WYFF4 Meteorologist John Cessarich as he appears "On the Road" at the InDwellings event. InDwellings will build homes for upstate adults with developmental disabilities. Such privately operated homes are greatly needed. The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010. The college celebrated with members of the PC Board of Trustees at a groundbreaking at the facility site, the former Frampton Hall, on April 14. PCSP will provide pharmacy education with a liberal arts college approach, integrating classroom learning with practical experience. |

| Just Eating? |

This is a six-week study (consecutive
Tuesdays) on hunger issues that can help our church members understand more fully their impact on hunger, nutrition and poverty. Our hope is to educate churches so that your congregation might be more active in hunger issues.The schedule for the study is listed below. Meetings will be 6:15-8:00 pm at different locations, and the group will share a SIMPLE meal together from another culture.
