Just a reminder to churches to report your collections of money, food donations and service hours to Souper Bowl. So far in 2009 almost $2.5 million has been raised for hunger.
New Meeting Time

On February 17 Foothills Presbytery will meet at Easley Presbyterian Church at 9:00 AM. Please note this change in time. It is 30 minutes earlier than the regular meeting time. This will be our NEW MEETING TIME for all morning presbytery meetings.
Ghana Youth Mission Trip
 
The Foothills/Kwahu Partnership Committee continues to accept applications for the Youth Mission trip to Ghana, West Africa. The dates for the trip are June 12-29, 2009. The plan is to send about 11 youth and 4 adult chaperones/advisors to visit churches there and to work on various mission projects. If you are interested in this trip, please download the application, complete it and send it with a deposit to Foothills Presbytery office. Music Program at PC and Montreat
 Pres College
The Presbyterian College Music Department has created a specialization in Sacred Music. Click here to see a listing of all the music recitals, performances and events that will take place throughout the Spring 2009 semester. A partnership between PC and Montreat Conference Center also has been established. PC will provide leadership for the music at all eleven summer Sunday worship services at Montreat 
Interfaith Listening Project

Two leaders from Pakistan will visit Foothills Presbytery February 17-20 to speak on interfaith relations in their homeland. The Rev. Dr. Maqsood Kamil (pictured on right) is a theology and preaching professor at the Gujranwala Theological Seminary and Executive Secretary of the Pakistan Presbyterian Church. The Honorable Khurram Dastgir Khan (pictured on left) is an engineer and a member of Parliament. As a part of the PC(USA)Interfaith Listening Project, they will share stories on how a Christian and a Muslim find ways to share a common life and work together on mutual concerns.

Chaplains Needed at Presbyterian Communities 
 
Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina are searching for a full-time chaplain for the Clinton Retirement Community and a part-time chaplain for the Florence Retirement Community. Go to Presbyterian Outlook and click on Classifieds for more information. 
Evening of Conversation
 
You are invited to An Evening of Conversation with Hispanic Friends on February 12. Plan to eat together (bring a covered dish), think about immigration, hear the stories of Hispanic immigrants as they have left homelands and come to America, and have a brief bi-lingual worship service.
 
Come at
6:00 pm to the Foothills Presbytery office at 2242 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681. The program will last until 8:00 pm.
(The gathering will take place next door at Eastminster Church if there is a large number of participants.)
 
Please invite people from your churches! And please let Bill Lancaster know how many might come from your church.
